In the latest Book Club Tadd and Peter get to one of the more underrated  great moments in the series, when Roland identifies the backstory of Jonas as a failed gunslinger. Susan is shaken awake and told of the murders. The Coffin Hunters prepare the rest of their plan now that the boys are jailed. Rhea sees the peculiar habits of a specific woman of Mejis through the ball and is interrupted by the Coffin Hunters who have come to take Farson’s property in a tense moment she convinces them to take her with the ball.

Olive has a nightmare and shares her last hours in bed with her husband, Roy makes sure the Sheriff and his men are ready to arrest the boys, Susan and Roland have their last love making together (as King himself tells us here) while Susan has bad feelings about what is coming, Cordelia has gone entirely mad it seems, The Demon Moon appears blood red which is causing a stir, Kimba Rimer has a rude awakening and Mayor Thorin has his final drink, and finally our boys are arrested for murder and treason.

In the latest Book Club Tadd and Peter find Mejis with a matter of days until reap and the Barony is hard at work to finish the harvest and get ready for Reaping Day. Sheemie delivers some graf to Seafront and with the help of Susan smuggles some fireworks out in the empty barrels. Reynolds checks in at Citgo where a number of towns folks are on guard. Rhea is deteriorating fast as she is shown horrid things through the ball. Cuthbert and Alain set up the gunpowder at the mouth of Eyebolt Canyon. And Susan makes her last visit to the house she shared with Cordelia and makes peace with the decisions she has made, also finding out Cordelia helped cover up her father’s murder.
