Book Club: Drawing of the Three Part 8

Hile to the Extended Ka-Tet, join Tadd and Peter as they come together to dive back into Drawing of the Three. We last left Eddie as he went into the bathroom with Jack Andolini, and in this episode Tadd and Peter see the showdown in mid-world with Jack as well as the Battle of the Leaning Tower. There is a lot to cover and a lot to overcome for Eddie and Roland as they face a very big challenge from Balazar and his small (though heavily armed) army.

Engage between shows one Facebook (Peter and Tadd) or Twitter (almost entirely Tadd). Also subscribe on YouTube to join us for live shows.

Questions to Answer for your Introduction

Hile newcomer,

Since the beginning we have asked some questions of newcomers so that we can get to know them and their relationship to The Dark Tower. In this post you will get those questions to answer.

You can answer them all or just the ones you want.

  • How did you come to reading The Dark Tower series?
  • Had you read other King books before these? If so which ones?
  • What King have you read since finishing The Journey to the Tower?
  • Did you have to wait for the books to be published over the years or did you come to the series post 2004?
  • Which of the books is your favorite? Why?
  • Who is your favorite Main Character of the series? We define main as anyone in the Ka-Tet or the main opposition (Roland, Jake, Eddie, Susannah, Oy, Callahan, Flagg)?
  • Who is your favorite Mid-Tier character, defining Mid-Tier as not one of the main 7 characters but not background characters. These characters likely show up more often or are really important in the book they are in (examples Cuthbert, Cort, Steven Deschain, Rhea, Crimson King, Stephen King, Calvin Tower, Jack Mort, Blaine the Mono, Jack Andolini, any of the Big Coffin Hunters, Gabrielle Deschain etc).
  • Who is your favorite Low-Tier character in the series? These we define as characters who are not even extremely important in the book(s) that they appear, let alone the series at large (Allie, Silvia Pittston Nort, Sheb, Aunt Talitha, Hax, Barlow, Moses Carver, Brown, Zoltan, Ben Slightman, Irene Tassenbaum, Elmer Chambers, Greta Shaw, Dandelo, etc).
  • Did you stall out on the series when reading it the first time?
  • Have you re-read the series? If so how many times?
  • Most emotional the series made you while reading it? Could be sadness, excitement, joy, or anything in between.
  • What did you think of the movie? (Do not be ashamed to give your honest opinion we have people on all sides and we are welcoming to all!)
  • Do you have any cool stories about reading the series?
  • If you were recommending the series to someone who didn’t have the first clue about them, how would you explain the series? As briefly as possible, an elevator pitch some might call it.

Palaver does not mean short so please never apologies for the length of an email. If you do genuinely feel you have a lot to tell and cannot get to all this in a length you are comfortable with break these up over your first few emails!

Long Days and Pleasant Nights!
